The Summer of 2012 will be a hot time for compact system cameras related announcements, specially during Photokina. If a lot of announcements and new releases from the top brands is already not enough for compact system camera photographers, then there is certainly more. The trail of new announcements and releases will continue even for the E-mount Sony NEX lenses too. Sony and Carl Zeiss are all set to follow their road-maps in introducing or launching latest E-mount lenses for NEX Compact system cameras.

Back in 2010, with the release of their NEX compact system camera series, Sony fixed a road-map for the Carl Zeiss lenses to come in the next 3 years. We can see that they have quite achieved their goals in 2011. Now 2012 is to follow. They have the 16-50mm f/3,5-5,6 OSS G pancake zoom (rumored) lens for the NEX series to be announced or released in a month or two. That is assumed to be a big exciting update for the Sony NEX compact system camera users.

With the picture above, we can assume the plans Sony is focusing on to meet by 2013. We can also see that from the second half of this year, Carl Zeiss will be announcing/launching new lenses for the E-Mount Sony NEX compact system cameras as well.
Moving on from Sony Carl Zeiss, we also are waiting for the launching or releasing of the Olympus 60mm f/2.8 macro and Panasonic35-100mm f/2.8 X lens in June. According to rumors, the Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8 X lens is going to be $1600 initially.
